Hello everyone! And welcome to the first post of the new site. Still working on cleaning up some stuff on here but it will be at 100% in the next few days.
I caught wind of this one through another collector buddy of mine who scored his when he purchased a lot on eBay. The first time I heard it, I could not figure out where they were from. They had such a unique sound that I was thinking probably New York or some big city. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait too long to get a copy of my own as I was able to get in touch with the bass player, Guy Chris. I asked him about the band and here's what he told me:
"I was 15 yrs old when we recorded this in 1982. I play the Bass and wrote the music and my brother played the keyboard and Tina played guitar and sang lead vocals. It was fun days."
15 YEARS OLD!!!!!! Unbelievable. These guys were kids from of all places, Maryland, when they made this record. I was shocked to say the least. Tripping Groupies is an art punk tour de force of sharp gritty guitar with a catchy shouted chorus and keyboards in just the right places. The flip is a cover which they do well but, Trippin Groupies is where the real heat lies on this one.
